Jian Cheng completed his Master’s degree in Japan, where he investigated the role of long non-coding RNAs in the regulation of Il6 expression. During his Master’s studies, he developed a strong interest in cancer immunology and subsequently expanded his research focus toward cancer immunotherapy. Following the completion of his degree, he joined Laurie Menger’s laboratory at Gustave Roussy in France as a Research Engineer.
His current research focuses on developing an animal model using iPSC-derived yolk-sac-like macrophages to investigate the role of tumor-associated macrophages in suppressing CAR-T cell function. This work is conducted in collaboration with the organoid team in Florent Ginhoux’s laboratory, with the aim of developing a physiologically and ontogenetically relevant model to study macrophage–CAR-T cell interactions.
