Background & research

Louis completed his undergraduate and Master’s studies at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France. He then completed his PhD at the Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (CIRI, Inserm U1111, Lyon) in Thierry Walzer’s team, in collaboration with Genentech, where he characterised the metabolism of human and murine NK cells at steady state and in the tumour context, and its impact on their anti-tumour effector functions.

He joined Laurie Menger’s laboratory at Gustave Roussy in September 2026. His project combines CRISPR screening and metabolic profiling to identify the metabolic determinants of T-cell stemness and to engineer more persistent CAR-T cells.
